My love of nature starts with my Grandfather's tree farm in upstate New York. He bought this 18 acre worn out sheep farm and began a 10 year project to reforest it. 9000 trees later in was done. Ever since I was a little boy in the woods with my grandfather I have found my home there. I walk in the woods everyday. Frogs and toads are my special friends. I used to collect everything, now I leave it alone except for edible mushrooms. The biggest lesson I have learned about nature is both its randomness and its ability to heal itself if you do nothing. This year I have decided to let my fields go wild only mowing them in the fall to keep them fields. We have meadowlark and Bobolinks in the fields next to us. The y play in the tall grasses.
