The Plumbstead Pa Grange is a central part of our lives. In another life I would have been a farmer. The meetings drive me nuts but the people are great. Every year we do the pork and oyster supper, the Middletown Grange Fair and the farmer's market. The grange movement is where the women's suffrage movement started. It is a progressive institution and I hope that it will be on the fore front of new farming practices. I look pon this timw as a privledge to get to know hese farmers. Farming is going to go through a radical change with the introduction of bio fuels and organic farming. Someday I hope we recognize the value of small local farms.
